Min/max CPU freq
Purpose Higher CPU frequencies mean faster processing but also increased current, interference and maybe increased temperatures. Depending on the frequency range of your CPU, quality of your power supply and resolving capabilities of your entire system, you may benefit from changing the max CPU frequency that will be used for all your processing. By default, Euphony will run near max frequency all... |

CPU isolation
Purpose CPU isolation (or CPU affinity) is a way to force the system scheduler to only use some of the logical CPU cores for a particular process (and all sub-processes it creates). If isolation is not utilized the system will try to balance the work and use all cores for all the processes. The idea here is that in audio playback we do not want to balance the entire workload equally - some process... |

ethtool command line params
Purpose ethtool is a Linux program that controls the parameters of your network card. In Euphony it is mostly used to lower the default network speed from 1000Mbps to 100Mbps. Lowering network speeds should benefit SQ as there is less interference with lower speeds. Bear in mind that if your library is on network attached drive that your access will be slower (buffering will take longer). Usage Th... |
